Business Logo
Series

A series of logos I designed for my brother a few
years ago for his business and website.
Completed on: 10/15/2004
Medium: Straight coloring and image manipulation in Photoshop
Info: Another series of images I created for my brother, but this time the images were for his up and coming business. His dream is to open his own club where people could go not only to workout but also learn martial arts, nutrition skills, yoga, meditation, and more (hence the body, mind, and spirit aspects). I didn't have any experience creating logos or anything business related prior to this so I jumped at the chance to try something new. With this piece it was important to create a balance and flow while also presenting an image that looks professional. One of my good friends gave me a rough idea he had for the three circle motif, and I went with it. It was also important to include a Vedic tilak symbol in the center of the design and make it the focal point as it represents all things auspicious and holy. This is the most finished out of all the logos I feel. The colors and glows are just right.

Info: Here I went with a more militaristic feel. The edges are sharp and reminded me of an ancient shield or war emblem of sorts. I like the dull reddish hue in the center of the design which helps to draw the eye inside. Might be a bit too scary for some... The last thing I'd want would be a logo which would intimidate potential customers. Definitely not a good thing for a business...

Info: With this logo I went with a more abstract and free motif. Came out kind of weird actually, and I don't think it would work for the business, but it has a cool look going for it on its own.

Info: Another weird design. I like the clear circle in the center of the piece. Reminds me of my coffee table at home. The symmetry here is one of the strong points, but the rings are not colorful enough to bring out the center. Not a bad effort though I guess.

Info: Yet another piece where I decided to use red as a color which would hopefully draw the eye into the center of the design. I liked it but realized that this would be too dark and hard to see on a small business card. The three rings especially would be easily lost in the murkiness.

Info: A derivative of my fifth attempt. Even though this piece has perhaps too much of a psychedelic vibe it was a hit with my brother. The colors are way out there, but I guess that might make the logo more interesting and inviting as well. I definitely didn't plan this one coming out like it did at first. It's a fun design to look at though.
