Medium: Pencil sketch on regular paper, coloring completed in Photoshop
Info: The protagonist from the Dark Requiem game I designed in my scriptwriting class. I did this one before the main cover, and if you have seen that piece then it might be evident the look of the character is just a bit different. I definitely tried to emulate the Japanese anime style in the coloring (the sharp shadows on the face and the trademark highlights in the hair). For fun I tried to implement a more realistic style in the shoulder pads and background, and I'm glad it didn't end up causing a huge eyesore. I really like this one, and the only knock I have against it is the simple background and rough outlines on the tattered cloak both of which are due to not having enough time to fix them. Hopefully one day I'll return to it and clean it up just a bit.
