Info: This was a piece I did for fun one day while working on my storyboards. When I'm cranking out finished pieces there are always moments when an idea will spring up which leads to another idea and another one and so it goes until I have a separate work on my hands which is usually interesting but normally doesn't fit into that particular assignment I'm working on. This portrait is one of those. It was a reference shot for one of my panels which I ended up tweaking quite a bit. The photo, which is one of me, was my background as I started to paint over it. Later I added a few brush effects, did some more painting, and then changed the color scheme. The portrait didn't come out too bad in my opinion. I have an alternate version which is basically the same picture with a few effects (most notably the fresco) on it.
