Still Life

Completed on: 2/29/2003
Medium: Pencil sketch on bristol paper
Info: A still life study from my drawing fundamentals class. In the past I always found it easier to draw objects as opposed to living beings due to their complexity. Here I was able to get a decent amount of detail in the two hour drawing session we were provided in class. This was also one of the first times I used a large selection of tools in the piece. Note to artist's everywhere: use anything and everything to help you in your art. What you don't find useful discard and keep what is best suited to your particular style. I've seen one person in my class attempt this project with a case of tools while another used one pencil the whole way through. Just depends on the person's comfort level I guess.
